Hosting Continuing Education For Medical Interpreters-Dentistry October 6, 2018

Join Kveta Morgan, Washington State Court Registered, Medical and Social Services Interpreter, who will lead this vocabulary and anatomy workshop for certified medical interpreters.

“Dentistry is a branch of medicine that consists of the study, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of diseases, disorders, and conditions of the oral cavity, commonly in the dentition but also the oral mucosa, and of adjacent and related structures and tissues, particularly in the maxillofacial (jaw and facial) area” [Wikipedia].

Commonly used terms of location and direction in dentistry will be discussed. This set of terms provides orientation within the oral cavity, much as anatomical terms of location provide orientation throughout the body. Common diseases, diagnostics, and treatment and will be covered as well as pediatric dentistry, orthodontics and public dental health vocabulary. Class participants will be invited to make in-class drawings of dental concepts and structures.
