Teamwork involves advance preparation and collaboration to manage and adapt to the needs of interpreted interactions, to gain closure post-assignment, and to apply new understandings to future interactions. Participants will gain a greater understanding of the importance of Deaf interpreters’ successful teamwork with interpreter colleagues, both Deaf and hearing.

Presenter: Ritchie Bryant, M.A., CDI
Mr. Bryant is a nationally known and respected presenter, trainer, advocate, consultant, entrepreneur, and author in the fields of American Sign Language pedagogy, American Sign Language Interpreting and Deaf Studies. He is also an established expert on Black American Sign Language and Black American Deaf Culture who contributes to numerous projects that proactively creates opportunities for other Black Deaf Americans.
Mr. Bryant has taught at numerous higher education institutions, including Gallaudet and NTID. He has also provided numerous intensive trainings and workshops, as well as co-authored a groundbreaking digital workbook, “TRUE+WORK ASL” and co-founded Purple Moontower Sign Language Publisher agency.
In his personal time, he enjoys traveling, supporting Black Deaf American businesses, insightful conversations with fellow travelers, old and new friends, and video editing.
ASL Communication is an approved RID CMP Sponsor for Continuing Education Activities. This Professional Studies program is offered for 0.6 PS CEUs at the Little/None Content Knowledge Level.
